This post is not a how to guide, 5 tips to.., or even a roadmap for E-marketing success.  Rather, operating from the assumption that you are a person who is interested in growing your business (genius, I know), I will ask 5 questions that I hope might provoke thought and narrow your focus to that aim.


  1. What are you doing to build your list of contacts, customers, and new leads?
  2. Where and how are you managing this (hopefully) growing list?
  3. How are you effectively and strategically investing into these contacts?
  4. How much time and money is it costing you?
  5. Is it working for you?

Answers to these questions do not need to be long winded or complicated.  In fact, the more concise and specific your answers are the more likely it is that you have narrowed your strategy, are sticking to it, and can say with some definitive ease, Yes or No, to question 5.


Here are some possible responses:


  1. Nothing
  2. In a Word Document
  3. Random emails and phone calls
  4. Whenever I do it, a lot.
  5. No



  1. SEO, Facebook Ads, List Builder Survey on my Website
  2. ACT!
  3. Monthly E-marketing Newsletter, Quarterly Offers, Annual Customer Event
  4. 1 person, about 15 hours a week
  5. For the most part- some months better than others



  1. Contact information- email signup on the store counter
  2. In  Excel
  3. Emailing customer satisfaction survey after purchase, and about 4 emails every 90 days with call list follow up to most interested leads
  4. 20 hours a month
  5. I think so- repeat business has gone up
