With the end of the year approaching, deadlines coming up and holidays approaching, our stress levels go into overdrive. It is a good time to lighten things up around the office by having fun! Employee burn out has such a negative impact to our productivity and is so often overlooked. There are many easy, cost effective ways to show appreciation and keep everyone from reaching the breaking point. Here are some ideas:
Write thank you cards for direct reports.
In lieu of a meeting, give everyone “free” time.
Have an in office scavenger hunt.
Share work friendly jokes, motivational statements, etc. on a joke board.
Celebrate non-traditional holidays…there is one or more every day! In fact, today‘s include: National Peanut Day, Fortune Cookie Day, Positive Thinking Day, and Defy Superstitions Day.
