Super Bowl 2012 is this weekend – are you ready? I’m not much of a professional football fan. I appreciate the college game much more. But I do enjoy a great game and usually the Super Bowl does not disappoint. Remember the last time these two teams met in the big game? Wow! There is so much hype, pressure and way too much money at stake. Not just for the teams, but for the advertisers too! I bet more people tune in to watch the commercials than the game itself. Speaking of tuning in, the vast majority of us have some sort of a gathering to get to just to watch the game. And what will we do there? 90% of the time we will be watching commercials, eating what we are seeing on the commercials, and dreaming about buying something on those commercials once the game is over and we have saved up a few dollars.
Now think about the CRM buying process. There’s usually a ton of hype. Everyone is excited. 3 or 4 vendors come in and give their best commercials. Some promise to be faster than last year’s model; most will tout being sexier than ever before and include bells and whistles never before seen in any product. There may even be some Doritos and Budweiser in the mix… As of yet, I haven’t seen any Volkswagens or GoDaddy.com models being used…
