WEB - Maintenance functions (e.g. replace data)

Status: Under Consideration
by Bronze Super Contributor on ‎02-06-2014 07:19 AM

The replace data maintenance function was very useful in the LAN client for modifying a lot of data at once based on groups. The function is missing in the WEB client.

Thank you.

Being able to release templates from the web client if you have the correct rights would be a huge bennefit too. I hate seeing the look on clients faces when I show them the corrent method of releasing these out. Setting sales quotas, opportunity defaults and customer service options would be very welcome too. New features are good but it'd be very handy if Swiftpage could get all of SalesLogix's existing features in to the web client.

In general - the Windows Based ADMIN Application is on it's way out.. and AFAIK ALL teh functionality will be added to the Web BAsed Admin functionality.

So (maybe) in a future release (8.2.x ??) there will be NO admin.exe ;-) and ALL admin functions (for all clients - Windows/Web/Mobility) will be via the web based admin.

PLUS it's totally customizable.. so you could incorporate your own toolsets into it!

I would hope that this functionality would ONLY be available as a job server run you set up the Group replace data run....and don't execute a 10,000 record change through the Web Restful services or sData.....instead run it on the SQL Server or through the SLX OLE DB Provider on the LAN....
