The world of social media is consistently becoming a more and more useful tool for companies to use when making sales, evaluating/acting on marketing strategies, and conducting multi-faceted approaches to research. The social add-ons that are part of Saleslogix help users do just that (currently in beta - read more here). The ability to have social listening incorporated, so you can have insight into what customers or prospects are talking about.
Recently, Saleslogix announced updates will be available soon to improve functionality with LinkedIn. Due to restrictions made by LinkedIn, the number of people searches was throttled back to just 250 per day, which would limit the amount of searches that Saleslogix users could process per day vastly. Currently, an update is being worked onwhich will fix that issue and provide a work-around that will let Saleslogix users interact with LinkedIn, and do people searches more frequently.
The first part of the update includes tying in a new field within Saleslogix that allows you to paste a person’s LinkedIn ID right into the field to associate to a Saleslogix entity. This essentially would allow the users to do the people search directly from LinkedIn. Saleslogix will also be supporting administrative functionality to allow users to obtain their own LinkedIn API keys, and input that, so they can get their own number of people searches per day. Lastly, the user will also be able to link out to the LinkedIn page to do people searches that way as well. These updates will be available soon in Saleslogix.
