#Sage #SalesLogix Knowledgebase Browser Compatibility

by Employee on ‎10-19-2011 03:56 PM

Although you access the #Sage #SalesLogix knowledgebase through either SupportOnline or PartnersOnline the same way, the interface that houses the knowledgebase is different. With the transition, many people are experiencing challenges with viewing the knowledgebase and/or the Sage Customer Portal.

At this time, this is the information that I have been able to locate on the browser compatibility:

According to the Sage Customer Portal Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Internet Explorer is the supported internet browser for use with the Sage Customer Portal.

  • If you use Firefox, Chrome or other browsers and encounter issues, we recommend using Internet Explorer instead.

  • If you use Internet Explorer 8 or 9, click the Compatibility View button  to the right of the address bar to avoid potential issues. To permanently enable Compatibility View for the Sage Customer Portal, go to Tools > Compatibility View Settings and click [Add].

I was able to access the Sage Customer Portal and the Sage SalesLogix knowledgebase using a 3.x version of Firefox. We received a blank white screen for Firefox 4.x and Firefox 7.x. In Chrome, I received a "Could not open iView. The iView is not compatible with your browser, operating system, or device. Contact your system administrator for more information." error.

I'm still waiting on an official browser compatibility, once I receive this information I will post something in reply to this post.

Thank you,

I did want to follow up on this topic - Based on the information that was provided to me, Internet Explorer is the preferred browser. This mainly has to do with the SAP infrastructure that the houses the Customer Portal and the Sage SalesLogix Knowledgebase. Personally, I was able to access it with Mozilla Firefox 3.x (but not with anything higher). It is my understanding that they are looking into this issue, and I will follow up as we receive more information.

Thanks for the feedback.

They really are going to have to support later FF versions (8.0 is now the current one) as well as the html5 based browsers on ipads/iphones and droid smartphones and pads/tablets.. time for Sage to catch up to reality as to what their customers and BP's are really using day to day.

Otherwise, the portals will become useless to all of us instantly....

RJ -

I agree that html5 browser compatibility is essential, and I have confidence that Sage is aware of customer expectations and technology advancements and trends, and they are working diligently towards reaching those expectations. With that said, infrastructure changes require time, so we encourage you to remain patient and continue to provide feedback that allows for continual improvement.

Nothing spells "diligence towards reaching expectations" like a published schedule. What is the target date for compatibility with these modern browsers?  Which ones?

I can't get it to work with IE either. And the support desk was in a meeting. And RJ told me to use IE. #justsayin

Mike, I'd like to assit you with the difficulty your are having with the SalesLogix Knowledgebase.  If you could describe the specific error or behavior you are experiencing I can investigate it further.  You can reply to SLXKB@sage.com.

Jerry, to address your question regarding browser compatibility, Sage has not yet finalized a schedule.  Once the schedule is released we will post the update to the SalesLogix Journal.

Thank you both for your questions and concerns,

After some additional research on the revised SalesLogix Knowledgebase I have noticed that there is no longer a link to the contact e-mail for technical issues relating to the Knowledgebase itself.  If you have any questions or concerns with the SalesLogix Knowledgebase specifically, please send them to SLXKB@sage.com.  This e-mail address is monitored by several Knowledgebase Specialists, not Support Personnel.  Any product issues should still be submitted to SalesLogix Support by submitting a webticket through SageSoftwareOnline.com or contacting Support by phone at 800-944-5709.
