Mobile v2.0 Training: What Will I Learn?

by Employee ‎03-18-2013 08:41 AM - edited ‎03-18-2013 08:42 AM

Last week Jason Huber blogged about the availability of the Mobile v2.0 training course. If you are a good candidate for this course, let me tell you more about what you can expect to learn. In addition to creating List, Detail, and Edit views for a custom entity, you'll also load customizations for out-of-the-box entities, add context and security to custom views, and move customizations to production.

Specific learning objectives include the following:

Lesson 1: Customization Preparation

  • Deploy an out-of-the-box mobile environment for Sage Saleslogix.
  • Identify the entities and relationships that must be included in the customization project, as they apply to the requirements.

Lesson 2: The Sage SalesLogix Mobile v2.0 Development Environment

  • Discuss benefits of creating an argos mobile development environment on the file system over using the deployment files or the Application Architect.
  • Explain the implications of modifying files within the base argos-saleslogix product folder.
  • Summarize the steps to get a custom products folder working with the base argos-saleslogix product in a mobile development environment.

Lesson 3: Custom Views

  • Explain the purpose of itemTemplate in a custom List view.
  • Describe the contents of the createLayout function for a custom Edit or Detail view.
  • Explain the purpose of the loadCustomizations function in a custom ApplicationModule.
  • Explain the purpose of the applyContext function in a custom Edit view.
  • Summarize the steps you would take to restrict a mobile user from adding a new record for a custom entity.
  • Describe what happens to your mobile customization files when deployed to the production website from within Application Architect.
