Momentum around the Sage SalesLogix product line and interest in the latest release has never been higher. On Thursday, December 3rd, I presented a webinar on the new features and improvements in Sage SalesLogix 7.5.2 and SalesLogix Mobile 5.6. Not only did we have over 150 attendees take part, online collaboration during the webinar was very active. If statistics stay true to form, we anticipate 500 people will download the recorded webinar. The recorded webinar will be available for download after the 15th of December. Here are some of the highlights available in SalesLogix Service Pack 2:
Performance and scalability improvements
Enhanced / streamlined Activity handling
Sales Orders enhancements
Sales Library improvements
Updated technical documentation
Mobile 5.6 improvements include:
Solid Calendar integration between mobile devices, Exchange Link and Advanced Outlook Integration
In addition to what's new in the latest releases, I covered some items to consider on whether or not your organization is ready to upgrade. One of the tools we are offering for those customers ready to move forward is the Migration Toolkit. This tool allows you to migrate your LAN / Windows customizations to the web interface. This is a very powerful, time-saving tool - not to mention the money it will save you. For more information on the Migration Toolkit, please contact your business partner.
See below for a few of the more common questions asked during the webinar:
Q. Where can I find the updated technical documentation?
A. The technical documentation is currently available on SupportOnline in the SalesLogix 7.5 section.
Q. Have performance enhancements been released as hot fixes for 7.5.1?
A. Only a subset have been released as hot fixes for 7.5.1.
Q. When can I get my hands on this release?
A. You can download it now from SupportOnline or check with your business partner.
Q. Can LAN licenses be used on the web?
Q. Does the web client offer an offline, syncing client?
A. Yes. All customizations and functionality are available in a disconnected web client.
Q. When completing more than one activity at a time, do you have to complete each individually?
A. No, you can choose to write notes about each one or complete them all with one note.
There were also many questions regarding general functionality that isn't new in 7.5.2 but was released in prior versions. If you are still on version 6.x or even 7.2.x, I encourage you all to get an updated view of what SalesLogix is like today.
I look forward to seeing all of you on the next webcast on December 15th!
