Re: Riva Outlook to SLX Integration anyone?

Thanks!

How did they overcome, correct, or workaround the following issues\functionality gaps:

  1.  Recurring Activities sync from SLX to Exchange
  2. correctly write ContactNames, AccountNames, and PhoneNumbers in SLX when coming from Exchange to SLX
  3. don’t null out Location in Exchange when coming from SLX to Exchange
  4. Have some kind of simple filtering system from SalesLogix to Exchange.

Re: Riva Outlook to SLX Integration anyone?

Hello RJ,

sorry for answering that late, but i had a lot of mails in my inbox.

at first, i did not check the new version of the outlook integration in 8.1 but
until 7.5.4 Riva was the best tool i had in my hands for this sync.

Of course there are some problems too.

>  Recurring Activities sync from SLX to Exchange

no, this does not work.
There a some special setting for the direction Exchange to SLX.
but for the direction SLX to Exchange i had only the answer from Riva:

"It is possible to add that as an enhancement, but it would take 60+ developer hours to complete.
At present, we do not have a sufficient number of SalesLogix clients to justify a ROI on the investment of developer resources.  If we had a customer that would partially subsidize the development costs, then we could add it as a customer enhancement project and schedule it with the developer team.  "

> correctly write ContactNames, AccountNames, and PhoneNumbers in SLX when coming from Exchange to SLX
it worked for us and our customers
Yes

> don’t null out Location in Exchange when coming from SLX to Exchange
I dont know, i work so little with outlook, i dont understand the question.

> Have some kind of simple filtering system from SalesLogix to Exchange.
Not directly.
its possible to reduce the number of contacts,
in this case you will have the "number" of last touched contacts with you.

It worked for me with 200.
i had all people from my actual projects.

but

Riva is able to customize this for you.
please contact Riva.

For one of our customers we needed a special matching and mapping for the contacts.
They did it really fast an good.

Re: Riva Outlook to SLX Integration anyone?

For us: Many to many is a requirement.....as is filtering the Contact list....they either have it or they've missed the mark. People have been doing many to many since Now Up To Date on a Mac in 1986......it's 2014....and SyncSalesLogix as an Ad Hoc Email list is the 'standard'.

As for Contact Names, Account Names, and Phone Numbers, Riva entered them into their bugs pipeline after confirming they were indeed bugs.
