Move Contact - Show Move Options

When you use the Move Contact feature, the Move Options are hidden and you have to click the button to Show Move Options.  The unfortunate part of this is that the default is not actually Move, instead it is Copy.  So, if the user forgets to show the Move options they are actually copying the contact and not moving it.  I find this to be a really poor design.  I would prefer to see the Options expanded when the window opens.  And the option should default to Move instead of Copy - it is the Move feature after all.

Bulk Action On Activities/Confirmations

Hello,

 

The activity methods are painful, especially when exchange link is enabled. I would suggest an OOB feature for the following:

 

1- Bulk method to complete activities. Currently 7.5.2 only allows you to bulk action on reminder area but not activity area...?

2- Bulk method to delete activities.

3- Bulk meethod to confirm/action on confirmations coming from EL. These back up considering how often I receive meeting invites. I have 200+ and I'm not going to edit each one.

SalesLogix Version : Saleslogix 7.5.4 Web

 

When thre are too many results returned the following message is displayed.

 

 “The SpeedSearch 'Maximum search results' has been exceeded. Please refine your search criteria to minimize the result set returned or contact your Administrator to increase the 'Maximum search results' value for the SalesLogix system.”

 

This can result in a users calling the Administrator everytime a speedsearch search is carried out.  From a users perspective they would like a more 'user friendly' message to be displayed instead for example,

 

“Please refine your search by going to advanced options and selecting more filters as there are too many potential matches currently”

Web Group Builder

The fields in the "Layout" of a Group should be in a Frame, so scrolling left and right only scrolls the fields in the layout, not everything on the screen.  This would improve usability, because when fields are added to the layout they are added to the right, you often have to scroll across to see them and move them into position, but scrolling across often hides the "Move Left" button. See attached example.

 

Also I may have mentioned it before but on this screen, Hidden fields should be hidden by default, and the user should be forced to click "Show Hidden Fields" if they want them displayed.

 

Users often find the Group Builder confusing because many tables are full of fields they will never need to use. E.g. Notifyonclose or Salesengineerid.

 

I want to hide many fields in the DB Manager and have SLX hide them by default in the Group Builder.

 

Would definitely help with user buy in.

SLX Web Client - Visual Cue that Filters are there

I get regular support calls from people that can't find a record in a group because they turned on a group filter and forget about it. Filters are a fantastic tool, however people are always forgetting that they've turned them on.

 

It would be great if all the active filters were listed at the top with an 'x' next to them, so the user could clear them individually without hunting through the menus. Or at least something that say "You have X filters turned on."

Notes Tab in SLX Web

Can we please have some additional fields in the "Notes" tab?  It would be useful to see who created the note and when,and also maybe the first 255 characters of the note itself?

Picklist Control in the Web

The picklist Control in the web should allow more than 4 items to be displayed in the dropdown list.

Account Owner Lookup Box

When performing a lookup for owner based on SAGE OOB WEB 7.5, it defaults to First Name, Last Name of the user. This really isn't practical for large organizations where you may have two, three, four and even five people with the same name,

 

I'm left wondering what type of real-world, hypothetical testing database sage is using before rolling out production code. I'd suggest a moe comprehensive environment.

Move Contact

When a Contact is moved record the Account the Contact has been moved from within Notes/History tab.

There are occasions where a scheduled batch job is the appropriate solution to a problem.

 

KnowledgeSync, TaskCentre and Scribe are examples of good tools that have traditionally been used to accomplish this kind of thing.

 

A scheduled batch job via Process Orchestration has the advantage of being able to make use of the SLX Entity Model (ORM) and related services provided by the WebClient technology stack.

Freeze Record Toolbar

Give the option to dock or freeze the entity details toolbar so the user can immediately access it without having to scroll up when viewing the lower panes.

 

Currently if the user wants to employ the middle pane or view a longish Tab, the mainview will scroll as a whole.  This forces users to scroll back up to the top of the mainview/details section to access the Record Navigation, Save, List View and other functionality.

We feel that this is inconsistant with a good user experience, and should not assume that the user would know to hit the Back button

Recurring meeting symbol on calendar items

I'd like to see a recurring meeting symbol on recurring SalesLogix calendar items and when mousing-over calendar items.  Preferably the same symbol as Outlook.

Partially addressed in 7.5.2 and 7.5.4. Calendar in V8 displays recurring symbol on actual calendar item, no hover required.
