If you use the Xbar and you look at the Opportunities for a contact that has just emailed. It will show you all open opportunities for the account, so some of the opportunities aren't even related to the contact.
When you have an account that has loads of opportunities but the one contact actually has two, you then have to click all the opportunities just to find the two that you want.
Swiftpage have said this is functioning as designed but this is clearly not as you do not get all opportunities for accounts on contact level when you use the Web Client or the Network Client.
Thanks
Bad FAD ......
.. and yet another solid reason for Swiftpage/Saleslogix to release the source code to Xbar asap so we all can deal with these things like we do in ALL the other client apps.
I'd love to have some level of access to the design spec so we can check whether these issues we log are indeed functioning as they have been designed. Can't help but feel that when we're told something is FAD that it's just a cop-out excuse. Sorry to be so frank but when basic and obvious areas of the system are clearly not working as they were intended, "functioning as designed" does not cut it for us or our customers.
Thank you all for the feedback! For the 1.0 version the opportunities were set at the account-level only. There was not a contact perspective with opportunities, however I agree that there is a necessity to do this. We do have plans to incorporate this into the product in the future. If anyone is willing to provide use cases, and how they interact with that feature on a daily basis, I would be happy to discuss that. It seems it is a hassle point, and we definitely want to clear that hassle.
Does anyone recall where it said it should be functioning from the contact-level for the 1.0 version?
Jeff - as has been done in the past w/all Saleslogix client apps, etc.. things (eventually) do get changed - but frankly - the only real solution is for Swiftpage/Saleslogix to release teh source to (at least) teh partner community asap. This way we can make teh necessary changes to fit OUR customer use cases - Saleslogix has never been able to do this and never will.
