Version Maps and Help About SLX executables.

Status: New
by Silver Contributor RJSamp on ‎08-09-2010 09:34 AM

The Online Support resident Version Maps need to include the individual file's DateTime, not simply a list of version numbers (which aren't available until you RMB on an individual file and display the properties) by hot fix\service pack.

When you go to Help About in the Client, Admin, Architect....., you can see\click on a button a list of System software, and a list of Bundle information. What is needed is a 3rd button showing a list of SLX relevant executables. Certainly the contents of the C:\Program Files\SalesLogix directory items could be displayed\emailed\exported to excel...I'll be bold enough to state that the current version of SQL Server, .Net Framework, Crystal Reports\Business Open, Intellisynch, Outlook, et al would be nice to have as well.

We \ users need to be able to take a snapshot of their machine and report back to ADMIN. Quickly and easily.

Why? The issue of which version of the OCX has been installed for version 7.2.2 versus which hot fix versus Admin vs Client installs has reared its ugly head again.

For those that forgot and never encountered the issue:

7.2.2. has an OCX file that botches grid references to base table fields in the data grid control.

This is updated \ fixed in Hot Fix 2.

This is further updated\fixed in Hot Fix 20.

Not all installs got all hot fixes.....

AND.....

An Admin only installation still has the original 7.2.2 OCX file on it ONLY since no Client Hot Fixes have been installed on the Admin only installation (doh!). And no Admin Only Hot Fix has an updated OCX filed (HF 22 would have been one such opportunity).
