Sharing Groups - Who owns the group in a large setting?

Status: Under Consideration
by slcjjw on ‎11-10-2010 11:34 AM

Problem: Our office works in a collaborative setting and we often share groups with each other. If I am the recipient of a group share, I can’t easily see who owns the group.

We need to determine who owns the group to:

  • Request changes to the group, when necessary
  • Request un-shares when the recipient doesn’t want the group or when the owner is terminated. We often see “orphaned” groups because the owner’s ID has been terminated

Perhaps SAGE SalesLogix could automatically append a comment into the comments area of Query builder which would allow the user to determine who the group originated from. I can think of a few other ways, but this way would be quite easy.

Also would be great if there was a way that you could search for groups, by name or condition

We've had similar issues using groups in a collaborative setting.  To piggy-back a bit on this, it would be nice if a groups could be owned by teams as well.

Agree BIG time on Team Ownership - Anywhere (in both LAN as well as web you should be able to use ANY of thefollowing to "own" things:

   A - Team(s)

  B - Individual (normal)

C - Individual (private - NOTE: there is a well known "bug" in web over this type of ownership.. been there since day zero.. and still there in 7.5.3 on premis as well as cloud)

  D - Everyone.
