Duplicate Check for SendSLX

Status: Under Consideration
by Copper Contributor on ‎10-01-2014 07:37 AM

I've seen this on a few customer sites now.

Outlook integration with SalesLogix is heavily used by many of our customers and rightly so. What we find though is that there are often multiple instances of the same email that seem to turn up in notes/history. Often this because the user has clicked "SendSLX" twice, three times or more.

Can an option be added to the function that allows the user to system to check if the email exists in the database already and if it does, ignore the last SendSLX button press? It's a surefire duplicate if the Originaldate, Accountid and Subject are the same.

Hi Sam,

I know we discussed this with respect to the new Sync for Exchange and there were some performance concerns. It wasn't dismissed but it was put on the back burner since sending the email to Infor CRM requires a more deliberate action.

This functionality is certainly valid and would be useful. I'll bring it up to the team.

Thank you for your input.

Thanks kevin,

Just noticed a mistake in my suggested duplicate check logic. There are instances where mail merges may be sent out to two contacts that belong to the same account. In that instance you'd still want there to be two history records.

So ContactID would need to be added to this too. Also, there's no Subject field in this history table. it's called "Description".
