Ability to add members to a to-do activity

Please add a "member" tab to a to-do activity, as is available with a phone call or a meeting, for instance.  This would allow tracking of tasks that others are involved in.

This hits at the heart of the outstanding improvement request that goes back over 13 years (to the very first SalesLogix)... the ability to add multiple contacts to a given activity (but I like the "member" name better ;-)

 

One possible approach is just have an Activity_Members table linked as a "zero-to-many" off the Activity table. You would want the same for History when you "complete.. but I'd suggest it NOT be a separate table but rather just one w/FK's for both Activity and History.

And my design from 1999 was to have an ANH_Entity table (Activities, Notes History= ANH...whilst C & H is pure cane sugar from Hawaii...). FK would be ActivityId, HistoryId. Entity Name (Contact, Product, Account, Opportunity, Literature, Sales Presentation, etc.), EntityId for the one to may link. Have a bunch of tabs off of Activty and History Detail.....tabs have grids based on Entity Name and Entity ID (Get all my Contacts for the meeting.....get all of my Product Samples for the meeting....).

 

I remember pitching this to the Carson's in 1998......Patrick Sullivan in August 2001 at the DCI show in NYC (two weeks before 9/11).....Member? how about Attendee instead......and Attendees can either be contact's or User's....
