Re: slx web 7.5.3 Mailmerge

I'm not sure yet why "Sage SalesLogix Desktop Integration Module Helper" is not registering with IE.

If you have administrative or power user rights, please run the following after closing all instances of IE:

Vista/7

1. Select the Start button.

2. Type cmd.exe.

3. When cmd.exe shows up in the search results select Ctrl+Shift+Enter. This will start cmd.exe using Administrator rights.

4. Go to the location where sagegears.dll is installed (e.g. cd %LOCALAPPDATA%\Sage).

5. Type regsvr32 -u .\sagegears.dll.

6. Type regsvr32 .\sagegears.dll.

7. Start IE and see if the "Sage SalesLogix Desktop Integration Module Helper" is registered as an add-on.

Thanks

Re: slx web 7.5.3 Mailmerge

Note that there is some AV software, etc. that prevents the installation of Browser Helper Objects in IE. The sagegears.dll installs a BHO named Sage SalesLogix Desktop Integration Module Helper, which is the add-on you are missing.

Please check that the following registry locations exist:

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT]

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{33866590-99F9-4222-A5C1-4EAAF733DFD5}

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\sagegears.BHO

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE]

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{33866590-99F9-4222-A5C1-4EAAF733DFD5}

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\PreApproved\{33866590-99F9-4222-A5C1-4EAAF733DFD5}

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{33866590-99F9-4222-A5C1-4EAAF733DFD5}

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\sagegears.BHO

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER]

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{33866590-99F9-4222-A5C1-4EAAF733DFD5}

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Settings\{33866590-99F9-4222-A5C1-4EAAF733DFD5}

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Stats\{33866590-99F9-4222-A5C1-4EAAF733DFD5}

Thanks

Re: slx web 7.5.3 Mailmerge

Hi

I stop the AV (Mac Afee) and I did what you  explain in the previous mail.

After registering the dll, I found this in the Internet Options , and i didn't find the key register you tell me.

Re: slx web 7.5.3 Mailmerge

Ok, that's a Google Gears related entry (which sagegears.dll is based on); it''s related to a menu item rather than the BHO.

What is the file version associated with your sagegears.dll?

I'd try turning off AV again and uninstalling and then reinstalling the desktop integration install.

Thanks

Re: slx web 7.5.3 Mailmerge

The file version you indicated is correct (i.e. the 7.5.3 gold version). Also, I confirmed that registering sagegears.dll should add the BHO. The registry calls to install the BHO are apparently being blocked on your system. You can determine the reason by running Process Monitor when registering sagegears.dll after adding a filter for RegSvr32.exe and RegCreateKey (please see the attached screen shot). Process Monitor can be downloaded from Microsoft (not sure what x64 issues exist with this utility):
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx

I've also attached the RegCreateKey calls from registering sagegears.dll in my environment.

Thanks

Mike
