Gmail Integration

[ Edited ]

We are currently attemping to set up Gmail Integration for a new Saleslogix 8.1 Cloud install but we have unfortunately run into issues at the 'Authorizing Google Integrations' stage. The steps listed per the Getting Started Guide are as follows:

  • On the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the Authorize Services tab.
  • Click Authorize next to the service you want to authorize.
  • If you are not already signed in to Google, enter your Google Email and Password and click Sign in.
  • Allow access to the listed services.
  • In the browser window, follow the instructions to copy the code in the box.
  • To copy, select the code text, and then press Ctrl+C.
  • Minimize the window and return to the Saleslogix Web Client browser window.
  • In the Configure Provider Token dialog box, in the User Email box, type your Gmail address.
  • Click in the Authorization Code box, and paste the code you copied in step 6.
  • To paste, click in the box and press Ctrl+V.
  • Click OK.

While we are able to go through and retrieve the Authorization Code without any problems when we click OK (last step) we always get the following error message:

"Unable to retrieve authorization token: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized."

We have tried this using multiple gmail accounts but always see the same error. Has anybody encountered this before, and if so, know what we are doing wrong?

Re: Gmail Integration

Don't know if it has an impact at this point in configuration, but make sure that the SData Sync Service is runnung as WebDLL and the SDataSync.config is configured (in SNC or Core 03b is a new config). The WebDLL user must also be set as windows user for the admin and the use windows auth must be enabled under tools > options > password in Administrator.

Re: Gmail Integration

+ Use windows auth checkbox must also be enabled on the admin. It's not enough just to select the WebDLL and uncheck the box again.
