Crystal Server XIR2 on Win 2003 64-bit?

Hello,

Does Crystal Server XIR2 work on Win 2003 64-bit?

Crystal and Web Reporting installed fine, but I get the error:

"Method not found: 'Void CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ReportDefModel.ISCRPromptingRequestInfo.set_RequestOptions(CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataDefModel.PropertyBag)'" error opening reports with parameters in the Web Client .

None of the 3 resolutions in the KB helped:

Ensure that ASP.NET is selected in the Windows Components Wizard.
Install ASP.NET v2.0.50727 as a web service extension for IIS, and set the extension to Allow.
Ensure that the SalesLogix Web Reporting server and Crystal Reports Server Embedded Edition are both installed on the same physical drive of the server, preferably the root [C:] drive.

I suppose the next thing for me to try is to uninstall everything and reinstall.

Thanks,

Justin Kuehlthau

No.. no 64 bit ... and it does not work/install on Win2008 32 or 64 bit either.

Hi,

What version of SalesLogix are you running? Also, are you running SP3 for Crystal Server XI R2?

It was on teh tip of my tongue (keyboard) because we just went down this path w/a couple of customers ;-)

FYI - The compat guide did say you could go w/2008 (32 bit server).. but it turns out it's wrong..

Re: Crystal Server XIR2 on Win 2003 64-bit?

Really? I can only see Microsoft Windows 2003 Server with IIS 6.0 and Windows 2000 Server/Advanced Server with IIS 5.0 for the web reporting server.

Thanks!

I guess I should have found the updated SP2 compatibility check list first.  I didn't even know it existed.

Thanks again,

Justin

Re: Crystal Server XIR2 on Win 2003 64-bit?

The latest on on the Partners On Line site does (still) say server 2008 is ok for web reporting BUT has a ref to a couple of notes. One of them states there is a "work around" not available OOTB... but:

A - I've never seen it.. it's not posted anywhere nor is it in the KB

B - We did take teh issue to Tech Support and they agreed that the OOTB does not support Server2008.

We (rjlSystems) have asked for the compatibility reference to be removed from the document since it is 100% mis-leading. Unfortunately.. it's still there.

Re: Crystal Server XIR2 on Win 2003 64-bit?

Hi Everyone,

The compatibility list on POL was recently corrected. CR Server XIR2 SPx cannot be installed on Windows 2008.

We have been working with SAP/BO/CR on a workaround that will allow for Crystal Reports server to be installed in a 64-bit Windows 2003 environment (running in 32-bit mode). Crystal Reports Server is supposed to be able to do this, but there are install issues. We should have some official news on this shortly.
