Send SLX not longer functions after applying 7.5.3.

We previously were on 7.5.2 and in applying 7.5.3 it appears that Outlook integration is broken.  Multiple users are seeing the same issue, all have applied the latest 'Enhance Saleslogix' feature but receive the message below when trying to either send SLX or record to history.

Could not process SendSLX Message:

The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.

Everything else with the system is functioning fine since the upgrade.  Anyone have any idea where to start looking?

Thanks in advance.

SendSlx and save to history are handled by the slmn.dll.

Sounds like you want to fix the "outlook integration" by unregistering the dll and registering it again.

Make sure SalesLogix AND Outlook are not open. I could write it all up but there's a procedure for this in the SalesLogix KB:

Possible Resolution 3:

7.5.x & 7.2.x only:

To unregister the dlls:

  1. From the Start button, click Run.
  2. In the Open field, type regsvr32 /u slxab32.dll.
  3. Click OK.
  4. From the Start button, click Run.
  5. In the Open field, type regsvr32 /u slmn.dll.
  6. Click OK.

To register the two dlls:

  1. From the Start button, click Run.
  2. In the Open field, click Browse.
  3. Browse to C:\WINDOWS\System32.
  4. Click slxab32.dll.
  5. Click Open.
  6. In the Open field, type regsvr32 before the filepath, so that it looks like:
    regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\SalesLogix\slxab32.dll"
  7. Click OK.
  8. From the Start button, click Run.
  9. In the Open field, click Browse.
  10. Browse to C:\Program Files\SalesLogix.
  11. Click slmn.dll.
  12. Click Open.
  13. In the Open field, type regsvr32 before the filepath, so that it looks like:
    regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\SalesLogix\slmn.dll"
  14. Click OK.

Possible Resolution 4:

On Windows Vista and Windows 7 workstations, it may be necessary to perform the following due to additional security features.

  1. From the Start menu, click All Programs.
  2. Click Accessories.
  3. Right-click Command Prompt and click Run as administrator.
  4. On the Administrator: Command Prompt window, at the cursor type regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\SalesLogix\SLMN.dll".
  5. Press ENTER.
  6. On the RegSvr32 window, click OK.
  7. On the Administrator: Command Prompt window, at the cursor type regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\SalesLogix\slxab32.dll".
  8. Press ENTER.
  9. On the RegSvr32 window, click OK.
  10. On the Administrator: Command Prompt window, at the cursor type regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\SalesLogix\SLMN.dll".
  11. Press ENTER.
  12. On the RegSvr32 window, click OK.
  13. On the Administrator: Command Prompt window, at the cursor type regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\SalesLogix\slxab32.dll".
  14. Press ENTER.
  15. On the RegSvr32 window, click OK.
  16. Close the Administrator: Command Prompt window.
NOTE: (rjl) on 64 bit systems it is Program Files (x86).. not just program files.

Re: Send SLX not longer functions after applying 7.5.3.

If you're getting a 404 I'm assuming that the SData URL defined in the Sage SalesLogix Desktop Manager is incorrect or invalid? This value is stored in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SalesLogix\Outlook\ under the SDataServer string entry (along with SDataUserName and SDataPassword).

Thanks

Re: Send SLX not longer functions after applying 7.5.3.

What is the complete 404 error.

What can not be found?

I have seen this error on iis7 server and so far have not been successful in getting it working on this iis version.

Gladly we have two servers and one is iis6. There it works fine.

Re: Send SLX not longer functions after applying 7.5.3.

Installing 7.5.3 service pack leaves me with a 7.5.2. slmn.dll  You got it, the OOTB slmn.dll is wrong. Installing LAN HF09 (the big one) doesn't fix it......and bringing in the Desktop Integration.exe and running it most likely will not replace the bad .dll with the good 7.5.3.4301 slmn.dll....that's because a web user, long after the SLX Install, must have Administrator rights to install the DesktopIntegration.exe and deregister that bad 7.5.2 slmn.dll, et al.

Is this going through sData (as in 7.5.4)? and you also need an sData portal for 7.5.3 Destop Integration to work?

SLX Looking into this today......LAN install brings in slmn.dll 7.5.2 (that's not a type for a 7.5.3 service pack.......and supposedly Web HF 2 brings in slmn.dll 7.5.3.4301. Unfortunately it looks like the SLXDesktopIntegrationSetup.exe for HF 3 and 4 don't have the slmn.dll 7.5.3.4301.....so web client desktop integration fails.....

Got it.....here's the scoop.....the WEB slmn.dll is installed in a hidden folder based on who installed the SLXDesktopIntegrationSetup.exe:

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator.IMPORT-SRV\Local Settings\Application Data\Sage

Unregister the LAN slmn.dll in c:\Program Files\SalesLogix

Register the slmn.dll in your user's Sage folder.

Make sure you are logged into Outlook.....and the SLX Web Client......
