Same issue with perhaps more clarification on possible causes.
We retired our old 7.5.2 server on a Friday night. The new 7.5.4 server ran fine most of Monday but shut down when just one user arrived in the afternoon and tried to start SLX from their notebook. This was the only user who had the old Data Manager connection remaining on their computer.
The (painful) lesson learned is to double check that every client PC and every Terminal Server login has removed the old server Data Manager connection before retiring the old server.
