"The mail merge service could not be loaded. This error may occur if Saleslogix Desktop Integration is not installed or is not installed properly."
This is the message I recieve upon clicking "mail merge" within the CRM task pane. I've already installed the DI. I've also configured the activeX settings in IE. Does anyone know what the problem may be?

A couple of things to check:
1. The mail merge functionality is only supported by IE.
2. If you are using IE then make sure the SlxClient site has been added to your trusted sites.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply.
I'm using IE 10 and the client was already added as a trusted site.

Ok, try the following.
1. Close IE.
2. Register the following libraries:
regsvr32 %LOCALAPPDATA%\Saleslogix\sagegears.dll
regsvr32 %LOCALAPPDATA%\Saleslogix\SLXDocW.dll
regsvr32 %LOCALAPPDATA%\Saleslogix\SLXFaxW.dll
regsvr32 %LOCALAPPDATA%\Saleslogix\SLXFramer.ocx
regsvr32 %LOCALAPPDATA%\Saleslogix\SLXMMEngineW.dll
regsvr32 %LOCALAPPDATA%\Saleslogix\SLXMMGUIW.dll
regsvr32 %LOCALAPPDATA%\Saleslogix\SLXWinFaxW.dll
3. Restart IE and test.
Thanks

Those aren't installed anywhere in my directory. There wasn't any trouble when I installed the DI. I'm not sure why I wouldn't have them.

Also, I'm using the trial version if that makes a difference.

Ok, Saleslogix 8.1 installs the libraries in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Saleslogix but earlier versions install them in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Sage. Which version are you evaluating?
Thanks

I've installed 8.1. I have the folder but the only thing that's there are connector logs.

I would recommend that you uninstall Desktop Integration and then when it's run again make sure that both "Office Integration" (mail merge, etc.) and "Outlook Integration" are turned on by default. Also, I'm assuming you have both Microsoft Word and Outlook installed.
Thanks
