Is anyone else experiencing LAN client lockups after applying HFs for V8?
I have two clients after installing Hot Fixes 00 thru 05 reporting Application Lockups. Specifically, the event viewer has:
SalesLogix... is a KernalBase error
Outlook ...Application Hang - Stop interacting w/ the Desktop Interface.
So far, we believe it is isolated to Win7 0/S 64 bit.
We are presently applying one HF at time on a various environment to generate the problem. 00 appears stable.

We are getting the same issue, on winxp, win7 32bit/64bit and win8, we upgraded from 7.54 straight to slx 8 patch 005.
Some users are affected more than others.
I do have a customer on patch 002 with no issues. But do have another customer on patch 005 getting the same freezing issues. I have tried rolling them back to patch 2, which did help a bit.

Uninstalled SalesLogix. Created a Client Build w/ all HFs. Re-installed.
Lockups occur upon completing Calendar items.
It is as if HF2 is requesting some adminstrative level permission to the registry.

Good morning all,
I've managed to find a stable combination that has been running without hangs for over a week now. Here is how:
SalesLogix was upgraded from 7.5.4 to 8.0.
Applied updates 00 to 04
Update 05 NOT APPLIED (this one has a change related to memory allocation and threads)
Applied updates 06 to 08
The result has been stable.
Obviously Update 05 provides a fix for some environment but I've tested on Windows 7 32 and 64 bit using Office 2007 and 2010. Also tried a bit on a Win2008 setup. All seem stable without Update 05 (and hang frequently when it is applied).

LAN Upgrade from 7.5.4 to 8.0
I have been working with my customer on this for weeks on the Same issue but have been unable to consistently reproduce it.
Hopefully this stabalizes things.

I have a client with HF 0-6 & 8 installed and has clients locking up on WTS. The server is Win2008R2 and users access SLX as a published app. Inserting new Lead and a custom "Trade" record causes the lockup. This is very randon, with user estimate of every 3rd time they insert. I checked the event log on the server and no errors are being thrown.
Has anyone seen this in a terminal server environment? BTW, just upgraded from 7.5.4 to 8.0.
