You should'nt need to as SQL Server creates the file for you.

This is a typical thing that SalesLogix Tech support can help you with.. or just call you BP.
They would go on-line (GTM) with you in a flash and have you up and running in 30 min or less.

Hi
What i did is i followed the same process of attaching the file through sql server 2008 in another machine and once i got ldf file by taking those two files(mdf and ldf) i have tried to attach the file through sql server 2008 and it is attached fine.
Now i am running with the another problem, i am getting a error message like unable to intialize data dictionary Invalid System Info. I have tried the below steps but still i am getting the same error
(Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Only) On the All tab:
a. Double-click Persist Security Info.
b. In the Property Value drop-down list, select True.
c. Click OK.
d. Double-click Integrated Security.
e. Click Reset Value.
Data may exist that does not display in the Value field. This value must be reset to ensure that all data is removed.
f. Click OK.
Please suggest
Shall i need to reboot the machine

It looks like your having fun with this one Jack!
You must following the SQL Server 2008 connection steps exactly as they are printed - My colleague put together a really good document for this which should resolve your error if followed correctly.

Let me know how you get on!

Hi Jack,
Try deleting the existing connection and recreating it from scratch following the doc provided.

Hi Adam,

Is the connection manager installed on the SQL Server machine or on another machine? If its on a different machine you need to ensure you have the SQL Native client installed.
