Visual Analyzer in 64-bit environment

I have SalesLogix 7.5.3 web running in a 64-bit environment with 4 servers:  sql server, application, and web server are Windows 2008 R2 64-bit and the reports server is Windows 2003 R2 64-bit.  I'm being told that Visual Analyzer (for the web) will not run in a 64-bit environment.  Has anyone tried this or could you verify that this is true?  (Which means we should return the customers money for the VA purchase.)

It is true that Visual Analyzer v2.5 and v2.6 are not compatible with any form of 64-bit environment at this time.  We have a defect in the system for this, but we also intend to put up a KB article to cover what Visual Analyzer is and is not compatible with.  It should be noted that Product Management and Development are aware of this and there is a plan to update Visual Analyzer to be 64-bit compatible.

 

Visual Analyzer v2.6 requires QlikView Server v8.5
Sage SalesLogix v6.2.6 or greater*
Qualified OS: Windows 2000, XP, 2003, Vista
Unqualified OS: Windows 2008
Not Compatible OS: Any 64-bit, Windows 2008 R2**
Known Defect with 64-bit: 1-69665 Visual Analyzer runtime error in 64-bit environments

*If SalesLogix v6.2.6, must install the SalesLogix Advanced v6.2 Service Pack 4.sxb.
*If SalesLogix v6.2.6, for full marketing support install the Marketing Feature Pack v6.2.5.sxb.
**QlikView Server 8.5 is not compatible with Windows 2008 R2

Hi,

 

Can you give more details on the VA compatibility issue in 64-bit environments?  We are running VA 2.5 on Server 2008 R2 servers with SLX running as a published app on Citrix Xenapp and haven't seen any issues with VA. (SLX LAN 7.2.2).

Patrick,

The compatibility issue that I ran into was related to the Visual Analyzer Server 2.6, which needs to run to serve up VA on the web client.  The server component will not support 64-bit or Windows 2008.  The QlikView server will run on those environments, but not the Visual Analyzer Server.

Hi again,

 

What more can you tell me about the compatibility issues with VA 2.x and 64 bit environments?  We have been running VA 2.5 installed on Server 2008 R2 (64 bit) OS in Citrix XenApp environments and have not seen any problems.   We'll be moving from 7.2.2 to7.5.4 very soon, and we'd sure like to know more about the issues others have encountered.

What is the current status of VA 2.6 running on a Windows 2008 R2 server in both the LAN and the Web?
