Service Pack Install Hangup

I'm attempting to install 7.5.3 on my test SLX server with 7.5.0 on it.

The Windows Installer gets to about 5 seconds left, then hangs.

Is there something I forgot to turn off, or install to have it finish this? I've checked the KnowledgeBase, and it has nothing on this symptom at all.

Re: Service Pack Install Hangup

Is this for the LAN, WEB or both? Also, what OS is this running on?

Do you have UAC enabled? If so, run SP3 using 'Run as Administrator'

Re: Service Pack Install Hangup

2003 doesn't use UAC.

I'm logging in using an admin account when installing it.

Re: Service Pack Install Hangup

Have you tried the following:

  • Downloading another copy of SP3
  • If you are installing SP3 across the network copy the installation locally and try again.
  • If you have AV installed or the firewall enabled try disabling it whilst installing SP3

Re: Service Pack Install Hangup

I have run into the same issue because the service user I use for the saleslogix services was no local administrator on this machine. Do you use a user or local system account?
