is it possible to "lock down" the SDATA-Portal? The idea is, that a user can only access different basic informations, e. g. just some fields in account, but not opportunities or tickets.
I tried to use roles, field security and other permissions, but was only able to restrict accounts, not the data within an account.
Is it possible?

i like to give an external user/company the possibility to access accounts. Within the accounts, the user should only see limited number of fields, for example ACCOUNT, STATUS, and so on. Other fields or the values should not be visible. Access should be readonly. Access to other tables should not be possible.

Since the "external company/user" will have to have a Saleslogix license.. and be a real Saleslogix user.. all the security rules apply - like John says.
It's really all there in 8.0 - OOTB - just a matter of proper configuration.

shure the user has needs a license. So i tried a little bit with the settings. One time it worked, but most times it does not work.
Are security settings cached through Caching Server? I did not find reproducable settings ...
