Desktop Manager - 401 Unauthorized

Hello,

A client has recently been upgraded to 7.5.3 Web.  So far every user gets the same error when setting up the Desktop Manager (error below).  I have verified that the SLX username and password is correct.  In the "Portal URL" box I also have the correct SLX server and port.  When I enter "http://[serverSmiley Tongueort]/sdata/$system/adapters" directly in to IE on the user's machine I am prompted for a login.  I enter the user's SLX login and I successfully connect.

Server is 2008 64-bit.  Client computers are Windows XP.

Connection Error:

The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.

HTTP error

Response URL: http://[serverSmiley Tongueort]/sdata/$system/adapters

Server Error

401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials.  You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.

Thanks for any assistance,

Trevor

Re: Desktop Manager - 401 Unauthorized

And that should of course be "http://[serverCOLONport]/sdata/$system/adapters" and not a tongue-out smiley face.

The message board was kind enough to automatically turn that into an emoticon for me.

Re: Desktop Manager - 401 Unauthorized

It turns out Windows Authentication was on for the SData site.  After turning that off the Desktop Manager worked correctly.
