The issue I ran into and reported on my blog is due to how SLX determines the level of sql you are using.  it looks at the SQL native client definition in the slx connection manager.  If you use a sql 2012 native client to connect to a 2008r2 database then SLX assumes your DB is 2012 and injects invalid "optimization" syntax into groups.  However, if you use the 2008 client as the connection definition then it knows not to inject those things.

I'm sure you know you'll now be flamed :-) Mixing NC's is a no-no and not sure why you'd do that ?

It wasnt me who set it up (honest!)  I just had to get involved and troubleshoot.
