7.5.3 Service Unavailable when Testing Portal

vmware workstation

website is up and running

domain is WORKGROUP1.

restored the 7.5.3 backup project to my custom database.

Deployed the standard portals with a full build. Test Portal or typing in a URL give me the Service Unavailable error.

Sql Server 2005, Windows Server 2003

IIS 6

IE 8

uninstalled and reeinstalled Web Host, updated to 7.5.3.

Can log into SLX LAN.

What Service is unavailable?

Same database ran on my home web server, not in a vmware.....

Thanks for any help!

Re: 7.5.3 Service Unavailable when Testing Portal

Check if your Application Pool is running.

This error can occure if the App Pool is not running.

This may be due to an incorrect username or password, or wrong rights.

What I do on my dev is:

Add the user to the local admin group

Add the user to the IIS_WPG group

This lets it start up the pool.

Make sure your SalesLogix site has the SalesLogix App Pool configured.

Hope this helps!

Re: 7.5.3 Service Unavailable when Testing Portal

Added Administrator to the IIS_WPG user group...made Guest user active and added them to the IIS_WPG to the pool as well. The SalesLogix Application was already running....

The group had NT_Authority already, but this isn't a domain (it's a Workgroup\VMWare Workstation server).

So I'm up and running, thanks!

Re: 7.5.3 Service Unavailable when Testing Portal

Great to be off help.

I had this things a lot in my web client beginning days.

Now, after doing it a lot I am used to a lot of things which can happen in the web world.

If you ever need help in customizing the web client or other things, just let me know.

We will see how I can help you out.
